Meet the Team – Mayleen Caban-Martin

Happy New Year!  We welcome the new year with the opportunity for you to meet Mayleen Caban-Martin!

Mayleen Caban-MartinMayleen has been with Pediatric Care Center for about four months, and works as Front Desk Receptionist in the Point Meadows office. We grabbed a few minutes of Mayleen’s time to ask her to share a little about herself.

Q: Mayleen, where are you from?
A: I am from the Bronx, in New York

Q: Do you have children?
A: No, but I would like to have two someday

Q: What about pets?
A: I have two adorable dogs, one is a Pomeranian and the other is a Silky Terrier Bella.

Q: After work, what’s one of your favorite activities?
A: I love catching up with my mom on the phone.

Q: How would you describe your job here?
A: My job here is fun and upbeat! I enjoy working here and look forward to seeing our awesome patients!

Q: Are you what you wanted to be when you “grew up”?
A: Not yet…I am a work in progress.  I look forward to earning my Master’s degree in Speech & Hearing Science in the near future.

Q: What’s the #1 question you get asked in the office?
A: lol. “Are there any appointments available for today?”

Q: Have you seen any local trends that parents have questions about?
A: Yes, quite a few parents have asked me about stomach viruses.

Q: Do you have any tips about what parents can do to make the most of their visit with the doctor?
A: Parents can always ask questions about a diagnosis or any other concerns they may have to stay well informed.

Q: Can you share with us one funny story from the office?
A: There a few funny stories but we have a few silly staff members at the Point Meadows office. The person that makes me laugh the most throughout the day is Emily. She loves to sing at random and it usually catches me off guard. We all keep each other going at times and Dr. Weise is pretty funny as well.
