Meet the Team: Jackie Lorie

For July, we are spotlighting Jackie Lorie, who can be seen at our front desk greeting patients for their visits.
Take a minute to learn a bit more about her.

Jackie Lorie

Q: Where are you from?
A: Wellington, FL

Q: What’s your favorite activity after work?
A: Running

Q: How many children do you have or would you like to have?
A: I would like to have 3 children!

Q: Do you have pets? What kind?
A: No, but if I had the time I would love a dog!

Q: How would you describe your job at Pediatric Care Center?
A: I would have to say I work with such an amazing staff. Everyone is truly passionate toward patient care and it is something that our patients notice, too.

Q: Are you what you wanted to be when you grew up?
A: I just graduated from UNF and I’m applying to nursing programs to become a Nurse Practitioner. Fingers crossed!

Q: What’s the number 1 question you get asked in the office?
A: When is my child due for a well visit and will there be vaccines?

Q: Have you seen in local trends (in illness) in the area that parents have questions about?
A: It depends on the season. When children are in school/daycare it is usually Strep or Flu.

Q: Do you have any tips about what parents can do to make the most of their visit with the doctors?
A: I would suggest that parents write down questions before a visit. That way you get all your questions answered. More often than not, parents are busy with their children and they forget what they wanted to ask the provider.

Q: Tell us one funny story from the office.
A: This is a tough one because working with kids is always entertaining. One story that sticks out would be when a 7-year-old boy told me he was a saving all his money for a car. I asked how much he had and he said, proudly, “16 dollars!”
