Meet the Team: Anyse Glenna, RN

This month, we would like to learn a bit more about Anyse Glenna, one of our RNs.

Anyse Glenna

Q: Where are you from?
A: Jacksonville, Florida

Q: What’s your favorite activity after work?
A: Spending time with my two boys, Justin and Kaleb and my Dad.

Q: What do you like best about your job?
A: The interaction with the patients and parents. Working at night I get to do one on one patient care. During the day they see numerous people before they get to the provider but at night they walk in straight to me. And I love the things the kids say sometimes, how they describe how they feel or what hurts.

Q; How long have you worked at Pediatric Care Center?
A: Almost three and a half years! I was hired May 2008.

Q; How would you describe your job at Pediatric Care Center?
A: I work the 8p-8a night shift. I’m there to answer any questions you may have in the middle of the night or to be there if you need to bring your son or daughter in if you feel they need to be seen and it can’t wait until morning. I also take care of our patients that we keep overnight, whether it’s for IV fluids, antibiotics, breathing issues or just observation. We always have a provider on call that’s just a phone call away.

Q; What is something you look forward to in the future?
A: Buying my own property and building my very first house.

Q; What’s the #1 question you get asked in the office?
A: Do you speak Spanish?

Q: Do you have any tips about what parents can do?
A: Everyone needs a thermometer in their house! If your child is one year or under taking their temperature rectally is the most accurate. A lot of parents call and tell us their child has a fever but they are only basing this on how warm the child feels. They don’t have a thermometer to actually take the temperature with.

Q: Tell us a funny story from the office.
A: One night Dr. Benitez called me and asked me if I heard about the family of five that was coming to the office. He said they were all vomiting and had diarrhea. I told him No, thinking how busy I was about to be! He then paused and busted out laughing and said, “There’s no one coming! It was a joke! Hope you have a good night!”
