Born in Havana,Cuba, Dr. Martinez emigrated with her family to the United States as an infant. She grew up in Central Florida where her family was sponsored by a local United Methodist Church. Her college education at Florida Southern College yielded a degree with a double major in Biology and Spanish. Dr. Martinez continued her education at the University of South Florida, where she earned her medical degree. Her medical training continued when she moved to Miami, completing a pediatric residency at Jackson Memorial Hospital. She remained in Miami for many years, practicing general pediatrics in her private practice, before beginning her second career in medicine as an employed physician. She returned to central Florida to work as an outpatient pediatrician for four years before joining 24/7 pediatrics in 2020. Dr. Martinez has two children; one daughter and one toy poodle. Her daughter graduated from FIU in International Relations moving to Washington D.C. to begin her career. Dr. Martinez enjoys reading mystery novels, and exploring new places, cultures, and cuisines.
